Four Simple Steps to Your Complete Estate Plan

One of the things that sets Lynk Law, Inc apart from other firms is our estate planning process. Our goal is to get to know our clients, listen to their concerns, understand their needs, and make a recommendation based on what best suits their family. Because each estate plan is unique, our meeting process can be condensed to meet our clients’ needs and schedules, including working virtually and off hours. When you work with us, here’s what you can expect:

Initial Meeting: The process starts with an initial consultation. This first meeting is a great time for us to get to know our potential clients. This is an opportunity for both of us to determine if we are a good fit to work together.

Design Meeting: The goal of the design meeting is to dive into the details of a client’s particular plan, discuss options and specifics. At the end of the meeting our clients have a clear blue print which we can use to draft their documents.

Review Meeting: During our review meeting, we will go over the first draft of documents in detail and explain when and how each document will be used. Our goal for the review meeting is to ensure that our clients understand each component of their plan. Based on your feedback during the review meeting, we’ll make the necessary revisions and send the documents to the clients for a final review.

Signing Meeting: After the documents are finalized, we’ll meet in person to sign and notarize them. Clients take their original documents home in an organized binder, and we send them electronic copies to share with their decision makers. At the signing meeting, we will provide you with a detailed description on how to “fund” your trust, i.e. transfer your assets into the trust.

Each time we meet, our goal is to move one step closer to completing a client’s estate plan. We want to ensure that the process is easy and painless: we think of it as holding a client’s hand through each step and by the end of last meeting, we have a completed plan to show for it.

Our relationship does not end after our Signing meeting. We follow up with our clients every three years to see if anything has changed with their family and assets, and if we need to amend their documents to reflect these changes. Above anything else, we have an open door policy with our clients, and are always here to answer their questions, whether related to estate planning or otherwise.
